Why is Crack Repair necessary?

Crack sealing alone is the most important asphalt maintenance service needed to prolong the life expectancy of your asphalt. Any cracks 1/4 inch or bigger are allowing water to penetrate the sub-base foundation that lies underneath the asphalt. In the warmer months, rain penetrates the cracks and forces it downward, which in turn causes deterioration of the stone underneath the asphalt. This deterioration leads to cracking of the asphalt, the only way to prevent further cracking is to apply tar to the existing cracks. During the colder months, water in the cracks go through an expansion process as it freezes. This expansion causes cracks to widen, which leads to increased surface cracking.

By plugging the asphalt cracks with hot tar, water no longer can penetrate the crack. Typically, asphalt crack sealing will last 1-2 years and should be part of a regular asphalt maintenance schedule. Call us today to schedule an on-site visitation. Our Crack Sealing Process:

1. Clean debris from all cracks by using asphalt crack hoes and wire brushes.
2. Blow off all asphalt cracks with a commercial walk behind blower.
3. Heat rubberized tar material to 375 degrees.
4. Pour heated crack repair material into crack
5. The material is pushed into crack with squeegee
